HSLC Result 2026: Performance of Bam Schools-An Analysis

An analysis of the recently published HSLC examination results shows a commendable performance by both private and government schools in Bam. While the average pass percentage of schools in Cachar district is reported to be 49.13%, the schools of Bam have performed significantly better. Bam Bidyapith High School recorded an impressive success rate of 92%, while BNMP School achieved 65%. In addition, several private schools have attained a 100% success rate. This remarkable achievement reflects the strong foundation of the education movement initiated by BNMP School in Bam nearly a century ago. Congratulations to the teachers, students, and guardians of Bam for carrying forward this proud legacy. The total number of students who passed the HSLC examination from BNMP School and Bam Bidyapith High School stands at 462. Furthermore, not fewer than 100 students have passed from private schools and other provincialised schools in Bam. Thus, the total number of successful HSLC candidates from Bam is estimated to be around 600. The next major challenge is to ensure that these students pursue higher education. A study conducted by Hafsa Foundation indicates a high dropout rate after the HSLC level. If even 30% of these students continue their education beyond Higher Secondary, Bam could produce around 180 graduates across disciplines such as Arts, Science, Commerce, Engineering, and Medicine. It is expected that guardians will play a proactive role in supporting their children to pursue higher education without interruption.
