1. Vision:
Work towards promoting education and social upliftment of the people in rural areas with a focus on Barak Valley for creating an enlightened, cohesive, and resilient community, and serve as a common platform for academicians, social workers, social leaders, and intelligentsia, for working together towards realizing the HaFSA Mission and to make life of the community beautiful.
2. Mission:
Hafsa Foundation for Social Advancement (HaFSA) will take up the following on mission mode in the first phase besides other activities as per the objectives of the Trust.
• Provide remedial Coaching and guidance to students of lower and upper primary school students in rural areas to strengthen their foundation and help them to acquire higher education.
• Educational Campaign to create awareness among guardians of students in rural areas about their role and responsibility for providing quality education to their children.
• Provide financial support to meritorious orphan students for their education from primary to university level.
• Provide Scholarships to meritorious BPL students to support their higher education in institutions of national importance.
• Support meritorious students from BPL families to pursue their Civil Services dream.
• Provide coaching and guidance to job seekers.
• Maintain a Rural Library and Information center to enlighten the rural people.
• Popularise the concept of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya among rural students, help and guide them to apply and prepare for JNV Selection Tests.
• Maintain Book Banks to collect used books and redistribute them among needy meritorious students.
• Tree plantation in community land under the Green Earth Tree Plantation Project.
• Help elderly people, destitute, differently-abled people, widows in distress, single mothers,
3. HaFSA Academy:
A unit of the Hafsa Foundation for Social Advancement, HaFSA Academy is the arm of the Foundation for promoting quality education in villages in remote areas. HaFSA will act as a catalyst for promoting quality primary education in rural areas and lead them to higher education.
Hafsa Academy imparts remedial coaching to lower primary and upper primary school students from Class I to Class VIII from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm on all weekdays except Sundays.
4. HaFSA Academy Coaching Center:
A unit of Hafsa Foundation for Social Advancement, HaFSA Academy is the arm of the Foundation for promoting quality education in the villages in remote areas. HaFSA will act as catalyst for promoting quality primary education in rural areas and lead them to higher education.
Hafsa Academy imparts remedial coaching to lower primary and upper primary school students from Class I to Class VIII from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm on all week days except Sunday.
5. Skill Development Center:
HaFSA academy will, in a phased manner, impart skill development training to youths for vocations like Security Guards, Electrician, Plumbers, DTP, Painter, Tailoring, Garment making & designing for educated women, soft skill development, and in other useful professions to make the youths employable.
6. HaFSA Rural Library and Information Center:
The Foundation maintains a Rural Library and Information Center. The Rural Library will inculcate the reading habit in the rural areas, where most people reside. Information is a fundamental resource for all intellectual activities and, the cultural, social, and economic development of society. The Information Center of the Foundation will serve as an agent for the dissemination of information among the rural community. In particular, the Foundation will disseminate information on the following:
• Entrance Tests and admission notifications issued by various Institutions and bodies
• Employment notifications
• Government notifications for any Social welfare schemes
• Information of Scholarships offered by the Government and non-government organizations
7. HaFSA Center for Social Welfare:
The Center will take up social welfare schemes to protect the people from economic risks and social insecurities. Initially, the center will take up programs to take care of elderly people, disabled individuals, and widows in distress. For this purpose, the Foundation will bring Government Social Welfare Schemes closer to the people, and assist them to avail such schemes under implementation by the Government.
8. HaFSA Institute of Barak Valley Studies:
Barak Valley is a unique region in the state of Assam, having its distinct culture, language, history, and economy. Hafsa Institute of Barak Valley Studies will be a center for promoting research-based studies of Barak Valley. For this, the Center will collaborate with universities of North East and stimulate studies on Barak Valley. The Institute will build up rich reservoir of Barak Valley based historical books and records for researchers. The Institute will keep all books written by Barak Valley authors.
In course of time, the Center will initiate a project to publish ‘The Journal of Barak Valley Studies’, an annual peer reviewed journal with ISSN, to give the researchers a platform for Barak Valley studies.
9.HaFSA Green Earth Tree Plantation Project:
Under the Green Earth Tree Plantation Project various species of green perennial trees are planted, including (but not limiting) Krishnachura, Bakul,Sunaru,BAkuli, Ashoka, Amlaki, Boida, Haritaki, Tarmarind in community land like-schools, colleges, cemeteries, mosques, churches, playgrounds, temples, madrassas etc.
Hafsa Foundation will gradually expand the operation for which we are looking for Volunteers, Associates and Professional Partners. At present ERD Foundation is our Associate and our Professional Partners is Green Nursery,Islamabad-788120 .
How one can help as Volunteer , Associate and Professional Partner?
As a Volunteer:
• Spread the campaign of Green Earth Tree Plantation Project amongst institutions and organizations having vacant land and persuade them to allow HaFSA to plant Trees in their premises.
• Supervise and coordinate with Hafsa,Institutions and Professional Partners in implementing such projects.
• Find out people committed to environmental issues to adopt trees planted under the project to make it sustainable.
As an Associate:
• Implement the Green Earth Plantation Project in association with HaFSA.
An Associate may be an Individual, NGO, Organization and Institution.
As a Professional Partner:
• Supply on commercial basis, saplings of perennial trees under the project in their neighborhood projects.
• Extend professional services for planting and taking care of planted trees in the Project land on commercial terms and conditions.
10. HaFSA Book Bank:
Hafsa Foundation maintains Book Banks to receive :
• CURRICULUM BOOKS OF ALL CLASSES FROM PRIMARY TO UNIVERSITY LEVEL
• BOOKS AND STUDY MATERIALS FOR VARIOUS ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS
• BOOKS AND STUDY MATERIALS FOR VARIOUS COMPETITIVE EXAMINATIONS FOR JOBS
• SCHOOL UNIFORMS DULY WASHED AND IRONED, SHOES, TIES, BELTS , SCHOOL BAGS
AND
TO RE-DISTRIBUTE THE BOOKS AND MATERIALS SO RECEIVED TO:
• MERITORIOUS AND KEEN STUDENTS WHO NEED THESE BOOKS AND SCHOOL UNIFORMS.
OTHER THINGS REMAINING SAME PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO ECONOMICALLY WEAKER STUDENTS.

11. HaFSA Career Guidance and Coaching:
HaFSA guides and coaches the job seekers at its Silchar Campus.So far HaFSA has conducted coaching and guidance for TET and Policie Costable recruitment.
Out of 20 students guided and coached by HaFSA for 2021 TET ,7 candidates cracked TET recording 35% success. Result of Police Constable recruitment test is awaited.
12.HaFSA Navodaya Mission: Talent Search Competition.
HaFSA carries out a sustained campaign to create awareness among guardians and students about the Navodaya Movement.
Hafsa Foundation for Social Advancement(HaFSA) organizes a talent search competition in May among Class IV and V students to find out students with latent talent and groom them up to become Doctors, Engineers,Professors ,Scientists ,IAS/ACS Officers and Professional Managers in future.
Why Class IV and V students? There are many talented students in rural areas. But their latent talent mostly goes un-noticed and due care is not given in the formative period. As result their base /foundation become week and their talent dries up and they become ordinary students. Hafsa Talent search is an attempt to identify the students with latent talent ,groom them up through continuous coaching ,mentoring and guidance and lead them towards successful career path as per their aptitude and inclination.
Target Navodaya Vidalaya,Poilapool:Talented students will be encouraged to go to Navodaya Vidyalaya in Class VI .
Guidance and Mentoring Talented Students by HaFSA Academy: The talented students will be given specialised coaching for Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test to be held very year .In Navodaya Vidyalaya Poilapool 70% seats are reserved for rural students(of which 30% seats are reserved for girls).With good and focused coaching for about 10 months most of such talented students will get selection for admission in class VI of Navodaya Vidyalaya. The unsuccessful students who will have good foundation will also get seats in other good schools and do better than others in competitive environment.
12.HaFSA Zakat Fund
“If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day—if you teach him to fish, you feed him for many days.”
MAIN OBJECTIVES OF HaFSA ZAKAT FUND:
• Scholarship to meritorious students eligible to accept Zakat, from Primary School to University level
• Support the economically disadvantaged people eligible to accept Zakat to take up economic activities for earning livelihood
- to change them from Zakat Seekers to Zakat Givers
