SuB:Tree Plantation at Hawaithang High School under Hafsa Green Earth Tree Plantation Initiative

Hawaithang-Dt.22/07/2023 - The Hawaithang High School witnessed a significant step towards environmental conservation on Saturday22 July 2023.. The Hafsa Green Earth Tree Plantation project, implemented by the Hafsa Foundation, successfully planted 20 perennial trees, including debdaru, sunaru, Bakul, and krishnachura, on the school premises.

The event was graced by esteemed personalities, including Gautam Kanti Das, President of the Hawaithang High School Managing Committee, and Hemendra Singha, Headmaster of the school. In addition to the dignitaries, enthusiastic students also participated in the plantation drive, showcasing their commitment to preserving nature.

The Hafsa Green Earth Tree Plantation project aims to contribute to a greener and healthier environment by planting perennial and flowering trees in various community spaces. Trees like krishnachura, bokul, kanchan, sunaru, ashoka, and triphala are carefully selected and planted in the premises of schools, colleges, mosques, temples, churches, kabargah, and other community-owned lands.

With this recent plantation drive at Howaithang High School, the Hafsa Foundation has now successfully planted trees on the premises of 19 organizations, enhancing the overall green cover and promoting sustainability.

During the event, Gautam Kanti Das and Hemendra Singha, along with other dignitaries, expressed their appreciation for the Hafsa Green Earth Tree Plantation project and emphasized the importance of environmental conservation. They encouraged the students and the local community to actively participate in such initiatives to create a better and greener future for all.

The Hafsa Foundation continues to make strides in its mission to combat climate change and promote ecological balance. The organization extends its gratitude to all the participants, volunteers, and supporters who have contributed to the success of the project thus far.

Sub: Hafsa  Foundation Launches Tree Plantation Project at Rajghat Darul Amon Kabargah

   Rajghat, Date: 24/07/2023 - Hafsa Foundation, a leading NGO, has taken a significant step towards promoting a greener and healthier environment with a tree plantation project Rajghat Darul Amon Kabargah, located adjacent to the M.A. Laskar Sr. Secondary School, Rajghat under its flagship initiative-Hafsa Green Earth Tree Plantation. The programme was launched with great enthusiasm and participation from esteemed guests and community members of Rajghat.

   The event witnessed the planting of 35 tree saplings, carefully selected to thrive in the local climate and enhance the biodiversity and beauty of the area. Among the planted saplings were the beautiful flowering krishnachura, bakul, Kanchan, and sunaru trees, which are known for their aesthetic and environmental benefits.

    The event was graced by Janab Fakhruddin Laskar, Head Maulana of Rajghat Darul Islam Madrassa, who attended the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Maulana Fakhruddin Laskar inaugurated the plantation programme by planting a sapling himself.

 During the ceremony, he prayed for  the eternal peace of those resting on the sacred grounds of Rajghat Darul Amon Kabargah

 Maulana Laskar emphasized the significance of planting trees. He pointed out that even Prophet Muhammad (PUH)had planted trees in graveyards, underlining the sunnah, the noble tradition. Maulana further highlighted that trees continuously offer Zikr throughout the day and night.

He also commended the efforts of the Hafsa Foundation in their tree plantation initiatives. The gathering was inspired by the shared commitment to environmental stewardship and the understanding that tree planting is not only a practical endeavour but also a spiritually meaningful act by the teachings of Islam

 The sacred Rajghat Dar-ul-Amon Kabargah, formerly known as Rajghat Kabargah, holds immense historical and cultural significance for the community. Hafsa Foundation acknowledges the importance of preserving such hallowed sites while contributing to environmental conservation.

   Apart from the Guest of Honour, the event saw the active participation of members of the Rajghat Kabargah Managing Committee, as well as enthusiastic residents of the mahalla including Amir Hussain Laskar, Abdul Mukit Laskar, Jakir Hussain Laskar, Shamsuddin Laskar, Baharul Islam Laskar, Kamil Hussain Laskar and Aminul Hoque Choudhury. Their collective efforts and dedication demonstrated their commitment to making Rajghat  Darul Amon Kabargah and Rajghat a greener and more sustainable community.

Sub: Hafsa Foundation for Social Advancement's Green Earth Tree Plantation Project at French Nagar

Bhag bazar:- Hafsa Foundation for Social Advancement, in its continuous effort to promote environmental sustainability, has taken a significant step by planting trees in the premises of three locations today. Under its Green Earth Tree Plantation Project, the Foundation has successfully planted avenue trees and perennial flowering and fruit-bearing trees at Frenchnagar Sarbojonin Shiva Badi, French Nagar Durgabari, and No. 1440 French Nagar Anumati Lower Primary School.

The tree planting initiative was actively supported and attended by prominent members of the community, including Kutan Dey, Secretary of French Nagar Sarbojanin Shiva Badi; Ramchandra Das, representative of French Nagar Durgabari; and Monuj Roy, Head Teacher of French Nagar No. 1440 LP School. Several other managing committee members were also present to partake in this noble cause.

The trees planted in these locations encompass a diverse range of species, including Krishnachura, Devdaru, bakul, Sunaru, Amloki, hartaki, neem, and areca palm, contributing to the ecological diversity of the area.

Hafsa Foundation's Green Earth Tree Plantation Programme, which was launched on 20/03/2022, aims to plant perennial flowering trees, avenue trees, and Triphala in the premises of educational and religious institutions, as well as other community lands. With today's initiative, the Foundation has expanded its tree-planting efforts to a total of 20 educational and religious institutions, underscoring its commitment to fostering a greener and healthier environment.

Sub:Hafsa Foundation's Successful Tree Plantation Drive at Kachudaram and Swadhinbazar Gaon Panchayat

 

Date: August 4, 2023

Hafsa Foundation took a significant step towards environmental conservation by conducting a tree plantation drive at Kachudaram and Swadhinbazar Gaon Panchayat. On this occasion, 47 perennial flowering plants were planted at various educational institutions, religious places, and community sites, making a positive impact on the local environment.

The locations where the tree saplings were planted included Borobauri Dakhin Paka Masjid, No.1585 LP School, Muslimabad, Alfalah Academy, Boro Bauri Kabarsthan, Daksin Boro Bauri Kabarsthan in the Village Muhonpur Part V (Kachudaram Gaon Panchayat), and Part VII (under Swadhinbazar Gaon Panchayat). These green initiatives aim to beautify the surroundings and foster a sustainable ecosystem.

Under the Hafsa Green Earth Tree Plantation Programme, the tree saplings chosen for the initiative were Krishnachura, Sunaru, Ashok, and Bakul, known for their perennial flowering and environmental benefits.

The successful event witnessed the presence of esteemed personalities, including Secretaries and Presidents of the organizations, Headteacher of the school, social workers, and enthusiastic tree plantation volunteers, all contributing their efforts to create a greener and healthier environment.

The driving force behind this noble initiative is Najmul Hussain Laskar, the renowned author of the book "Tattayer Vittite Moinul Hoque," and a dedicated green earth activist. Mr. Laskar has been advocating tree plantation in educational and religious institutions for an extended period. Hafsa Foundation has provided him with a platform to carry out his passion for a cause close to his heart.

The institutions and entities involved in this initiative expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Hafsa Foundation for spearheading the tree plantation drive. SUB: HAFSA FOUNDATION TALENT INITIATIVE FOR JNVST:

Dt.10.10.2021

Hafsa Foundation has initiated a talent search examination amongst Class V students of Lower Primary Schools -both English and Bengali medium- of Narsingpur Development Block and Silchar rural areas. The Hafsa Talent Search Examination (HTSE)will be held on November 14 2021in different centres in Silchar and Narsingpur Block. The objective of the Talent Search Examination is to identify students with latent talent and groom them up with special care from all concerned -parents, teachers, social workers, and NGOs ii. to develop a spirit of competition amongst students at an early age. iii.To identify students with the potential for giving special coaching for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Entrance Test for admission to Class VI of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. iv. Create awareness amongst parents and guardians about the education of their wards in a good school including Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya.

A merit list of all the students appearing in the Talent Search Examination will be prepared. The first position holder will be awarded a cash prize of Rs.2000.00, the Second position holder will be awarded a cash prize of Rs.1000.00, and the third position holder will be awarded a cash prize of Rs.500.00. Talent certificates will be given to top 50 students in the talent list showing score and position secured. Certificate of participation will be given to the remaining students.

The top 50 students in the merit list will be counseled and encouraged to apply online for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test for admission to Class VI for session 2022-23 and take special coaching for the test at any Coaching Centers of their Choice for success in Navodaya Selection test.

To popularize Navodaya Vidyalaya selection test in rural areas and to give recognition to successful students  Hafsa Foundation in association with Excel EdVenture Academy, Madhurbond felicitated Ruhana Begam (brand ambassador/mascot) of Hafsa Talent Search Examination) Village -Rakhal Kalerpar Pt II, Srikona, today at Excel Edventure Academy for her success in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (Class VI) 2021 only with Home Preparation.She was felicitated with appreciation letters and awards. The appreciation letter and awards were handed over by Rabeya Khanam, Principal Silchar Government Boys HS School (Retd), Makabbir Ali Barbhuiya Retd Subject teacher, Silchar Government Boys HS School and Saadullah Choudhury, Retd Sr Lecturer Udharbond DIET. Speaking on the occasion Rabeya Khanam said that more and more girl students from rural areas should take part in the Navodaya Selection Test as 75 of the seats are given to students of rural areas of which 30% seats are for female students. Makabbir Ali Barbhuiya meritorious rural students can get quality education free of cost at Navodaya Vidyalaya and appreciated the effort of Hafsa Foundation in popularizing the Vavodaya Selection Test among rural students through Talent Search. Saadullah Choudhury wished a bright future of Ruhana and hoped that Ruhana would inspire hundreds of rural students aspiring for Navodaya admission.

Among others, the felicitation function was attended by Shamim Ahmed Barbhuiya, Asstt Prof Murshidul Alom College Algapur, Mehjabeen Barbhuiya, Teacher, Sirajul Ali HS School, and a host of educationists and students. Ms anchored the ceremony

HAFSA FOUNDATION FOR SOCIAL ADVANCEMENT (HaFSA)

1. Vision

Work towards promoting education and social upliftment of the people in rural areas with a focus on Barak Valley for creating an enlightened, cohesive, and resilient community, and serve as a common platform for academicians, social workers, social leaders, and intelligentsia, for working together towards realizing the HaFSA   Mission and to make life of the community beautiful.

2. Mission

Hafsa Foundation for Social Advancement (HaFSA) will take up the following on mission mode in the first phase besides other activities as per the objectives of the Trust.

Provide remedial Coaching and guidance to students of lower and upper primary school students in rural areas to strengthen their foundation and help them to acquire higher education.

Educational Campaign to create awareness among guardians of students in rural areas about their role and responsibility for providing quality education to their children.

Provide financial support to meritorious orphan students for their education from primary to university level.

Provide Scholarships to meritorious BPL students to support their higher education in institutions of national importance.

Support meritorious students from BPL families to pursue their Civil Services dream.

Provide coaching and guidance to job seekers.

Maintain a Rural Library and Information center to enlighten the rural people. 

Popularise the concept of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya among rural students, help and guide them to apply and prepare for JNV Selection Tests.

Maintain Book Banks to collect used books and redistribute them among needy meritorious students.

3. HaFSA Academy:

A unit of the Hafsa Foundation for Social Advancement, HaFSA Academy is the arm of the Foundation for promoting quality education in villages in remote areas. HaFSA will act as a catalyst for promoting quality primary education in rural areas and lead them to higher education.

Hafsa Academy imparts remedial coaching to lower primary and upper primary school students from  Class I to Class VIII from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm on all weekdays except Sundays.


4.  HaFSA Academy Coaching Center: 

A unit of Hafsa Foundation for Social Advancement, HaFSA Academy is the arm of the Foundation for promoting quality education in the villages in remote areas. HaFSA will act as catalyst for promoting quality primary education in rural areas and lead them to higher education.

Hafsa Academy imparts remedial coaching to lower primary and upper primary school students from  Class I to Class VIII from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm on all week days except Sunday.


5. Skill Development Center: 

HaFSA academy will, in a phased manner, impart skill development training to youths for vocations like Security Guards, Electrician, Plumbers, DTP, Painter, Tailoring, Garment making & designing for educated women, soft skill development, and in other useful professions to make the youths employable.


6. HaFSA Rural Library and Information Center:

The Foundation maintains a Rural Library and Information Center. The Rural Library will inculcate the reading habit in the rural areas, where most people reside. Information is a fundamental resource for all intellectual activities and, the cultural, social, and economic development of society. The Information Center of the Foundation will serve as an agent for the dissemination of information among the rural community. In particular, the Foundation will disseminate information on the following:

Entrance Tests and admission notifications issued by various Institutions and bodies

Employment notifications

Government notifications for any Social welfare schemes

Information of Scholarships offered by the Government and non-government organizations

 

7. HaFSA Center for Social Welfare:

The Center will take up social welfare schemes to protect the people from economic risks and social insecurities. Initially, the center will take up programs to take care of elderly people, disabled individuals, and widows in distress. For this purpose, the Foundation will bring Government Social Welfare Schemes closer to the people, and assist them to avail such schemes under implementation by the Government.


8. HaFSA Institute of Barak Valley Studies:

Barak Valley is a unique region in the state of Assam, having its distinct culture, language, history, and economy. Hafsa Institute of Barak Valley Studies will be a center for promoting research-based studies of Barak Valley. For this, the Center will collaborate with universities of North East and stimulate studies on Barak Valley. The Institute will build up rich reservoir of Barak Valley based historical books and records for researchers. The Institute will keep all books written by Barak Valley authors.

In course of time, the Center will initiate a project to publish ‘The Journal of Barak Valley Studies’, an annual peer reviewed journal with ISSN, to give the researchers a platform for Barak Valley studies.


9.HaFSA Green Earth Tree Plantation Project: 

Under the Green Earth Tree Plantation Project various species of green perennial trees are planted, including (but not limiting) Krishnachura, Bakul,Sunaru,BAkuli, Ashoka, Amlaki, Boida, Haritaki, Tarmarind in community land like-schools, colleges, cemeteries, mosques, churches, playgrounds, temples, madrassas etc.

Hafsa Foundation will gradually expand the operation for which we are looking for Volunteers, Associates and Professional Partners. At present ERD Foundation is our Associate and our Professional Partners is   Green Nursery,Islamabad-788120 .


How one can help  as Volunteer , Associate and Professional Partner?

As a Volunteer:

Spread the campaign of Green Earth Tree Plantation Project amongst institutions and organizations having vacant land and persuade them to allow HaFSA to plant Trees in their premises.

Supervise and coordinate with Hafsa,Institutions and Professional Partners in  implementing  such projects.

Find out people committed to environmental issues to adopt trees planted under the project to make it sustainable.

As an Associate:

Implement the Green Earth Plantation Project in association with HaFSA.

An Associate may be an Individual, NGO, Organization and Institution.

As a Professional Partner:

Supply on commercial basis, saplings of perennial trees under the project in their neighborhood projects.

Extend professional services for planting and taking care of planted trees in the Project land on commercial terms and conditions.

 

10. HaFSA Book Bank:

Hafsa Foundation maintains Book Banks to receive :

BOOKS AND STUDY MATERIALS FOR VARIOUS ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS

SCHOOL UNIFORMS DULY WASHED AND IRONED, SHOES, TIES, BELTS , SCHOOL BAGS

TO RE-DISTRIBUTE THE BOOKS AND MATERIALS SO RECEIVED TO:

MERITORIOUS AND KEEN STUDENTS WHO NEED THESE BOOKS AND SCHOOL UNIFORMS.

OTHER THINGS REMAINING SAME PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO ECONOMICALLY WEAKER STUDENTS.

11. HaFSA Career Guidance and Coaching:

HaFSA guides and coaches the job seekers at its Silchar Campus.So far HaFSA has conducted coaching and guidance for TET and Policie Costable recruitment.

Out of 20 students guided and coached by HaFSA for 2021 TET ,7 candidates cracked TET recording 35% success. Result of Police Constable recruitment test is awaited.

HaFSA carries out a sustained campaign to create awareness among guardians and students about the Navodaya Movement.

Hafsa Foundation for Social Advancement(HaFSA) organizes a talent search competition in May among Class IV and V students to find out students with latent talent and groom them up to become Doctors, Engineers,Professors ,Scientists ,IAS/ACS Officers and Professional Managers in future.

Why Class IV and V students? There are many talented students in rural areas. But their latent  talent mostly goes un-noticed and due care is not given in the formative period. As result their base /foundation become week and their talent dries up and they become ordinary students. Hafsa Talent search is an attempt to identify the students with latent talent ,groom them up through continuous coaching ,mentoring and guidance and lead them towards successful career path as per their aptitude and inclination. 

Target Navodaya Vidalaya,Poilapool:Talented students will be encouraged to go to Navodaya Vidyalaya in Class VI .

Guidance and Mentoring Talented Students by HaFSA Academy: The talented students will be given specialised coaching for Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test to be held very year .In Navodaya Vidyalaya Poilapool 70% seats are reserved for rural students(of which 30% seats are reserved for girls).With good and focused coaching for about 10 months most of such talented students will get selection for admission in class VI of Navodaya Vidyalaya. The unsuccessful students who will have good foundation will also get seats in other good schools and do better than others in competitive environment.


12.HaFSA Zakat Fund


“If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day—if you teach him to fish, you feed him for many days.”

MAIN OBJECTIVES OF HaFSA ZAKAT FUND:

Scholarship to meritorious students eligible to accept Zakat, from Primary School to University level

Support the economically disadvantaged people eligible to accept Zakat to take up economic activities for earning livelihood

- to change them from Zakat Seekers to Zakat Givers

Hafsa Foundation for Social Advancement (HaFSA)is looking for establishing link with NGOs for working in rural areas of Barak Valley.

Objectives:

Pool the expertise and network of NGOs  for optimum results.

1.Support meritorious orphans for their education from KG to PG

2.Support Higher education of meritorious BPL students in reputed Colleges, Universities and Institutions.

3.Popularise concept of Navodaya Vidyalaya in rural areas and guide students for JNV Selection Test

4.Educational Awareness Campaign among Guardians in Rural areas

5.Maintain Rural Library and Information Centre

6.Maintain Book Banks to pool used books,School Uniforms, School Bags, Geometry Boxes ,School Shoes and to distribute them among needy students.

7. Coaching and guidance to job seekers

8. Plantation of perennial trees in premises of institutions, organizations and entities under Green Earth Tree Plantation Project
